HAY St Marys laid down a MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two title marker with a 5-2 win over Montgomery Town.

Greg Preece led the way for the Saints with a hat-trick with Matty Tong also on target while an own goal completed the home side’s tally while Monty hit back with second-half replies from Sam Williams and Robbie Hartshorn.

Elsewhere Dyffryn Banw maintained their bright start to the campaign with a solitary Jamie Huxley strike earning the Llangadfan side a 1-0 win over a visiting Presteigne.

Newbridge also celebrated a 5-0 win at home to Waterloo Rovers with Ollie Woods, Lyndon Jones, Aeron Powell, Dave Thomas and Jake Bufton on target.

Meanwhile a Kieran Mulloch double earned Gary Jones his point as Churchstoke manager in a 2-2 draw at Llansantffraid in MMP-NL Mid Wales League One.
