NEWTOWN make yet another long haul Friday night trek with bottom of the table Llanelli their hosts.

The Robins make the trip in good heart following two successive victories with manager Chris Hughes’ options further boosted by several fringe players staking a claim in their midweek Nathaniel MG Cup victory over Penybont.

“We controlled the game but did not make the most of our possession and full credit to Penybont as they were always in the tie,” said Hughes. “It was a good opportunity for a few lads to get some extra game time and we are happy to keep our unbeaten home run going.”

Hughes is likely to restore his first choice XI for the trip to Llanelli who have struggled since returning to the top tier this season.

However Hughes insisted he would not be taking the South Walians for granted as the Robins sought their first league win on the road this season.

“They have some good young lads and it is another big trip and big match for us,” said Hughes who confirmed midfielder Alex Fletcher’s half-time substitution in midweek was a precaution and not due to injury.”
