TNS 0 Bala Town 0

TNS dropped home points for the first time this season as Bala Town battened down the hatches to claim a Friday night point.

The home side dominated from the first whistle with Dean Ebbe firing just wide inside the opening 10 minutes before Bala goalkeeper Ashley Morris made his first intervention of a busy night to deny Aeron Edwards.

The Saints continued to dictate the game with Morris frustrating Danny Redmond while Ebbe and Edwards also went close.

TNS’ best chance arrived just before the break when Chris Marriott’s free-kick was headed into the danger area by Blaine Hudson with Bala failing to clear their lines as Redmond lashed inches wide of target with Morris rooted to his spot.

TNS started the second-half with the same intensity with Jamie Mullan bursting through only for his lofted shot to be pushed away by Morris.

Redmond surged through the Bala defence before firing inches wide while Edwards blasted just over the bar from the edge of the area as the Saints maintained their dominance.

However Bala should have led on the hour when Henry Jones’ right wing cross was squared on the far post by Harri Horwood only for Steve Tames to balloon over the bar from six yards.

TNS laid siege for the remainder of the game with Ebbe and Edwards going close before Saints manager Scott Ruscoe introduced Greg Draper and Adrian Cieslewicz.

The change almost paid dividend with Cieslewicz’s close range shot turned onto the post by Morris in the final act of the game.

TNS: Harrison Spender, Marriott, Holland (Cieslewicz 82), Cabango, Routledge, Redmond, Hudson, Mullan, Ebbe (Draper 65), Edwards (Byrne 86). Subs: Hmani, Clark, Nembhard, Lewis
