WELSHPOOL celebrated their first win of the Game On North Wales Women’s League season with a commanding 43-10 win at home to Holyhead on Sunday.
The islanders put in a much improved display following a summer of hard work and were rewarded for their endeavour with a brace of tries from Rhodd Parry.
However the tries proved consolation as a dominant Pool stormed to victory with Sharon Davies and Lucy Morgan both crossing for two tries each to share the plaudits
Further tries from Lottie Morris, Sarah Cheshire and RGC star Grace Johns completed the try count with Jaya Whittingham and Ellie Davies each kicking two conversions.
Meanwhile COBRA were brought crashing to earth following their opening weekend triumph with a 25-0 defeat at Abergele.
The home side ran home five tries with Sophie Edwards celebrating a hat-trick and Emily McMullen adding a further two tries as COBRA’s domination of the scrums counted for nought against a well drilled Abergele side who eased to a comfortable victory.
