MID Wales Stoves have been unveiled as the new sponsor of Newtown Pool League.

The league is in its 36th season and continues to grow from strength with Llanfair Caereinion-based Mid Wales Stoves its brand new sponsor.

League secretary, Owen Durbridge said: “We are delighted to have a high quality sponsor for our league.

“Lee Cruse of Mid Wales Stoves competes in the league for the Red Lion Castle Caereinion so the connection is perfect.”

Donna Cruse of Mid Wales Stoves added: “We are pleased to be partnered with Newtown Pool League which is well known for its high standards.

“We are a growing business and want to get our name out there, particularly as we have over 60 different stoves on display in our showroom, making it much easier to choose the best model for each customer.

“We hope the Pool League will thrive under our sponsorship and wish all member teams much success over the season.”

The league gets tighter every season with defending champions the Buck Inn once again expected to set the standard with a host of international experience while Churchstoke’s Horse and Jockey have added singles champion Carl Clarke to their line-up with New Inn Llanbadarn also looking strong.

The second division front runners are expected to include Monty Young Guns with Waggon Nomads and The Herbs also expected to challenge.

Meanwhile the third division has been boosted with the addition of Newtown Bowling Club, Dolau Inn B and Monty Muscles with the Pheasant A expected to be among the favourites for honours.
