LLANFAIR United maintained their unbeaten start to the North Wales Women’s League One season with a 2-1 win at Denbigh Town.
The Mid Wales side had to wait until the stroke of half-time to wear down the hosts with Mary Griffiths releasing Gemma Jones who skilfully evaded the Denbigh defence to slot home.
United should have put the game to bed only to spurn a hatful of chances after the break.
However with 10 minutes remaining Sarah Ellis doubled their advantage from a tight angle as their pressure finally told.
The hosts were back in the game moments later with Ceri Redman heading home but Llanfair were not to be denied and held firm to maintain their 100 per cent start to the campaign.
