Prestatyn Town 4 Penrhyncoch 0

PENRHYNCOCH crashed to a comprehensive defeat at Prestatyn Town who strolled into the quarter-finals.

Penrhyn started brightly with Jonny Evans and Liam Doherty going close before the Seasiders led on 13 minutes with Aaron White released by Ian Griffiths Hulme to fire home.

The Roosters survived a penalty appeal from the hosts while White’s header was cleared off the line by Sion James.

However it was all one way traffic after the break with goalkeeper Oliver Fairbrother denying White from a Jack Hoult cross before Griffiths completed a quickfire brace with two goals in as many minutes on the hour to stun the Roosters.

Dave Hayes completed the scoring with a firm header from Jack Hoult’s accurate corner with 20 minutes remaining .

It could have got worse for Penrhyn with Griffiths narrowly failing to find the target from Casey Faulkner’s cross before Liam Lewis came off the bench to scuff wide in a late and rare opening for the well beaten Mid Wales side.
