Alberbury 183-8 drew with Beacon 154-8

ALBERBURY had to be content with a draw at Beacon in division one of the Henshalls Shropshire League.

Despite being reduced to 56-3 early on with opener Mike Crawshaw caught by Mike Turner off Chris Cook for 21, the visitors innings was sewn together by Mark Jones who guided his side to 135-6 upon his departure to Mitchell Lloyd for a top scoring 70.

Savage was back in action to claim the opening wicket of Beacon’s reply with Turner caught by Sahim Zaza for 29 to end his 47 run stand alongside Jamie Connell.

Alberbury made inroads into the Beacon order before Connell was finally caught by Dominic Zaza off Holloway (4-45) for a top scoring 64 with the home side 137-7.
