Meanwhile Maesyrhandir Football Club will be sponsored by Graham Ottaway Builders and Lion Bites Newtown this season.

Joint manager Gary Jones said: "Graham is well known for backing local sport as this is his fourth season sponsoring Maesyrhandir and also sponsors the Newtown Summer Pool League as well as helping send the Wales B1 team to the European Championships in April.

"Carol Williams recently purchased Lion Bites and supported both amateur teams in Newtown by providing the Wanderers with a kit and ourselves with polo shirts.

"Both are local businesses, Graham providing all aspects of building work and Lion Bites who provide a hot food at Newtown's Lion Works.

Jones also thanked Peak Fitness, Whitley Crest Kennels and Cattery, and Richard Williams of Litesoft, The Lion public house, Dragon UAV and Cellpath for backing the club this season.
