THE Rhayader Two Day Enduro will take place this Bank Holiday weekend.

The event, sponsored by ET James, Lasermaster and Amped, kicks off with the Maxxis Prologue at Cwmythig Hill tonight (Friday) and forms part of the British Enduro Championship.

Championship and expert class riders will open the weekend while an anticipated large crowd will also entertained by a moped stunt team.

Saturday and Sunday will utilise the course at Cwmythig Hill, Saints Well, the Red Lion forest and Abbeycwmhir

Isle of Man based series leader Danny McCarney arrives in Mid Wales as favourite but can expect a challenge from Oswestry’s but Tom Sagar.

Welshpool’s Joe Wootton leads the Powys challenge along with Rhayader’s Alex Walton and Llanidloes’ Charlie Evans with a quality field including ex-motocross star Alex Snow and World GP regular Josh Gotts.

Llandrindod Wells duo John Williams and Jason Zembruski are joined by Ethan Pugh of Newtown in flying the Powys flag in the clubman class

Martin Paosila-Jones of Llandrindod and Llanymynech’s Stephen Askin are both in action in the over 50s.

Builth Wells’ Liam Ryland and Ashleigh Bufton, Billy Mason of Llandrindod and Newtown’s Alexis Pugh compete in the sportsman class.

Saturday will also see a round of the British Sidecar Enduro Championship contested with multiple champion David Williams of Llanidloes and Chipping Norton passenger Luke Peters the favourites.

Llandrindod crews Jonathan Williams/Neil James and Gareth Rowlands/Will Green will also press for honours in the championship class.

The Llandrindod crews of Mike Hutton/Kieran McCarley and Matthew Baynham/Dan Baynham are joined by Aberfafesp’s Steve Pryce and Aled Lloyd-Jones in the expert class.

Anthony Mills/Neil Pugh of Newtown, Machynlleth’s Aled Rees/Dan Lewis, Llanbrynmair’s Hefin Williams/Craig Davies, Stuart Jones/Aled Jones of Newtown, Llandrindod’s Wayne Mason/Jack Mason and Llandrindod’s Martin Rowan/Shane Symons line up in the clubman class.
