Welshpool 98 all out lost to Beacon 99-2 by eight wickets
WELSHPOOL paid the price for their batting display in an eight wicket defeat at home to Beacon.
Mitchell Lloyd (6-30) and Jamie Martindale (3-31) tore through the home order with only a battling top scoring 40 from Dale Evans helping Pool to 98 to defend.
Beacon based their innings on a 54 run second wicket partnership before Jamie Connell was caught by Allan Harris off Jamie Breese (1-30) for a top scoring half century.
However Pool were unable to prevent Alan Mines (1no) and Martindale (1no) guiding Beacon to 99-2 in the 23rd over.
