JAMES Clewlow came off the bench to earn Welshpool Town a battling point in a 1-1 draw at Bow Street in division one of the MMP-NL Mid Wales League.

An own goal gave the hosts the lead Welshpool were not to be denied a share of the spoils with Clewlow saving his side a point.

Elsewhere Elliot Jones scored twice from the penalty spot as Caersws maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 5-2 win at home to Aberaeron.

Mark Edmonson, Aled Jones and Craig Harris completed a comfortable victory for the Bluebirds while the Seasiders replied through Steffan Gittins and Dan James.

Llandrindod Wells maintained their own impressive start to the season with a 4-0 win at home to Kerry on Friday night with Robbie Nicholls starring with a hat-trick while Darren Murphy completed the Spamen’s tally.

Carno also toasted a Friday night victory at a youthful Knighton Town.

Harry Holt and Joe Morris both completed doubles while Richie Evans, Daniel Lewis and Kieran Beaton were also on target in a 7-1 win with Dan Farmer netting a consolation.

Llanfair United celebrated a hard-fought 1-0 win at local rivals Berriew with a late Josh Astley strike winning the day while the hosts ended with 10 men with the dismissal of Rhys Stephens.
