Llanrhaeadr ‘Buckle’ Up for next challenge

MARC Griffiths insisted his Llanrhaaedr side would not be getting carried away following their dream opening weekend with all eyes now on their trip to Buckley Town on Saturday (2.30).

Griffiths scored the only goal of the game as Llanrhaeadr stunned pre-season title tips Rhyl last week to announce their return to the second tier after several years absence.

Griffiths paid tribute to his players, saying: “After the final whistle every player was dead on their feet.

“The effort from everyone was tremendous.”

The villagers celebrated the victory before turning their attention to fellow new boys Buckley Town who suffered a 5-1 opening day defeat at title favourites Bangor City.

“We won’t be getting carried away with last weekend’s result,” said Griffiths.

“Every game will be a massive test for us this season and Buckley Town will be a different test again.”
