Llanidloes 227-4 beat Guilsfield 108 all out by 119 runs

LLANIDLOES produced their best performance of the season to boost their basement battle and dent Guilsfield’s promotion bid.

Dave Court (2-25) accounted for the cheap removal of openers William Denham (5) and Geraint Evans (11) as Llanidloes struggled early on.

However the home innings were revived by Ethan Owen and veteran Adrian Foulkes in a match defining third wicket stand.

Foulkes was eventually caught by Luke Grainger off Gary Griffiths for a top scoring 89.

Griffiths completed his 2-33 with James Denham stumped by Dave Lewis for 21 to leave Owen (89no) and Dave Moody (8no) to guide Llanidloes to a commanding 227-4.

The Denham brothers starred in reply with captain James (3-26) sweeping through the Guils top order as Gary Griffiths, Sam Griffiths and Alex Parry falling cheaply.

William Denham (3-21) continued the good work with Gary Lewis caught by Geraint Evans for 10 before James Denham caught Dave Lewis for 15.

Guilsfield’s tail end offered some resistance before Court was caught by James Denham off Lewis Swallow (1-17) for 20 before Jordan Evans was caught by Moody off Eogan Jones (1-15) for 20 to complete the visitors demise for 108 in the 27th over.
