THE conveyor belt of talent at Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club continues to produce top talent.

The Newtown based club is home to Welsh indoor championship 60m champion and 100m silver medalist Arthur Powell and celebrated its greatest ever yield of medals at the North Wales Championships with 18 young athletes on the podium.

Meanwhile Cai Burr claimed a bronze medal in the under 20s

North Wales javelin champion Cai Burr claimed a bronze medal in the under 20s shot put at the Welsh Junior Championships while Callum Sherlock returned with a bronze medal in the under 20s 3,000km walk.

Chloe Murton-Davies is the reigning North Wales under 13s girls discus and shot champion and joined by Rhys Andrews, Sarah Parry, Niamh Briskham and Ella Jarvis in climbing the regional javelin and shot rankings under the tutelage of coach Nigel Tilley.

The club also continues to produce track talent with Maddie Griffiths a double Welsh champion having added the Welsh under 13s 1,500m title to her girls under 13s cross country crown.

Clubmate Callum Morgan claimed a silver medal in the under 13s boys 1,500m while Carwyn Owen also ended on the podium with bronze in the boys under 17s 800m.
