LAUREN Williams just missed out on a place in the final of the women’s under 20s 400m hurdles at last weekend’s British Championships in Birmingham.

The Trefeglwys star ended her heat in third place in 59.85 but narrowly failed to qualify for the final.

The Swansea Harrier said: “I was really gutted just to miss out on the final as that was my aim going into the championships.

“However I knew it would be a long shot as I’m still an under 20 and I’m happy to be consistently running under the 60 second mark.

“It was still a good experience and it’s given me great confidence ahead of the Welsh Championships.”
