WELSHPOOL boxer Josh Greer underlined his potential by returning from a South Wales fight night triumphant.
The 16 year old from Llanfyllin travelled to Towy Boxing Club in Ammanford under the titelage of Welshpool Boxing Club coach Mike Sinden.
Greer took on Gwent boxer Kieran Johnson and celebrated a first round victory to return home with the silverware and reputation enhanced.
Coach Sinden praised the teenager and hoped would continue on his path to success.
The Welshpool club has produced a host of talented boxers under the coaching of Sinden since it was first established more than 35 years ago.
Josh Schofield, Jon Boy MacDonald and Dan Gethin all emerged through the Welshpool club while the most successful graduate of the Mid Wales club remains Warren Sinden, a two time Welsh amateur finalist before a number of professional fights.
Sinden said: “Josh is a bright prospect and deserved his win.”
