Rhayader Town completed a league and cup double with a 5-2 victory over Presteigne Reserves in Sunday’s Pip Samuel (Electrical) Mid Wales (South) League Cup Final in Builth Wells.
Gareth Hughes broke the deadlock before heading home a second from Taylor Wozencraft’s corner.
Jamie Blythe punished goalkeeper Eifion Price’s error to reduce the arrears for Presteigne only for Rhayader to respond through Jamie Evans.
Hughes blazed over the bar from the penalty spot before Jordan McFadden struck and Mark Wozencraft nodded home Mattie Lewis’ cross to seal glory.
Presteigne continued to toil and were rewarded with a late consolation with Blythe completing his brace with a 25 yard strike.
