Holywell Town 0 Guilsfield 2
GUILSFIELD ended the season on a high with victory at Holywell Town.
The villagers were under the cosh with goalkeeper Lee Andrew saving well to deny Mark Winslade before Matty Harvey glanced a header inches wide.
A dogged defensive display from the Guils ensured the Wellmen frustrated and on the stroke of half-time broke the deadlock with Robbie James heading home Jake Cook’s cross.
Holywell were still recovering at the start of the second-half as Chris Cathrall surged through the home defence and rounded goalkeeper Shaun Pearson with his shot coming back off the woodwork for Cook to gobble up.
Holywell’s lack of discipline undermined hopes of recovery with the dissenting Sam Jones earning his marching orders on the hour as Guilsfield comfortably saw out the game.
GUILSFIELD: Andrew, Bromley, Weetman, Rogers, Ford, James, Cook, Jones (Richards), Hamilton (Leonard), Cathrall, Harris (Jenkins).
