Holyhead Hotspur 1 Guilsfield 0
GUILSFIELD paid the penalty as their Huws Gray Cup dreams were dashed against 10 man Holyhead Hotspur.
The villagers faced 10 men for much of the tie with Dean Garmey sent off for the hosts inside the opening 10 minutes following a rash challenge on Adam Jenkins.
However the Guils failed to capitalise with Chris Cathrall denied by the crossbar in their best opening of the half,
Guilsfield dominated the second-half but a dogged Spurs continued to frustrate and with seven minutes remaining seized the lead.
Jon Littlemore went down in the area with the resulting penalty converted by Tom Clark to send the hosts into the second round.
GUILSFIELD: Andrew, Bromley, Richards (Harris), Rogers, Ford, James, Cook, Jones (Weetman), Hamilton, Cathrall, Jenkins. Sub: Leonard.
