THE region’s representatives in the Welsh Schools Cup have been in action throughout the month.
Welshpool High School under 18s overcame Ammanford 4-2 on penalties following a thrilling 4-4 draw to book their place in the quarter-finals.
However the school’s under 15s side crashed 5-0 at home to Darland while the under 13s side suffered a 2-0 defeat at Dyffryn Nantlle.
Builth Wells High School under 14s also crashed to a 5-0 defeat at Moelwyn High School while its under 12s side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Bro Myddin.
Llanfair Caereinion High School girls under 13s lost 5-1 at Glan Clwyd with Emma Williams netting the Mid Wales side’s consolation.
Meanwhile Newtown progressed in the girls under 15s cup with a 6-3 victory over Glan Clwyd to book their place in the quarter-finals.
The Newtown side, including Welsh internationals Carrie Jones and Libby Isaac, will now represent their school and county in the quarter finals.
Sally Murton-Davies led the scoring with a brace while Jones, Isaac and goals from Faye Marshall and Tayha Oliver sealing victory.
