TEMPERATURES are rising and summer has well and truly arrived in Powys.

What better way to cool down on a hot day than an ice cream?

Whether it be from a cone or from a bowl, the taste of a good ice cream in summer is something we can all appreciate.

The County Times asked readers where is the best location for ice cream in Powys and were inundated by fans of Britain's favourite frozen pudding.

Five ice cream parlours proved overwhelmingly popular among Powys ice cream fans.

1. Lakeside Boathouse, Llandrindod Wells

County Times:

Situated on the shores of the iconic lake, ice cream fans can enjoy cooling off with a host of flavours with views of the famous artificial water feature which is popular for a host of sports as well as being a well-trod tourist trail.

Briony Bufton said: "An amazing selection of delicious ice cream."

Andrew Morgan added: "It has the most amazing selection and quality whilst being served by such wonderful and professional staff. If Carlsberg did ice cream parlours it would look like this."

2. Llanfaes Dairy, Brecon

Up to 42 flavours are available with a viewing window inside for customers to see ice cream being produced.
