NEWTOWN Football Club chairman Howard Ellis has issued a rallying call to the town ahead of a vital Easter for the Robins.

Newtown travel to Bala Town on Friday before entertaining TNS on Monday and rounding up their season at Flint Town United the following week.

Should Newtown surpass Bala Town's points tally at the end of the three games then the Robins would seal second place and a return to Europe.

Ellis said: "It’s been a fantastic season so far as we would definitely finish third if we lost our remaining games.

"Ahead of us is probably the most important Easter the club have faced for a number of years as the Robins try to overcome Bala town on good Friday away followed by TNS home on Monday."

Attendances have disappointed this season with the second phase and high stakes failing to entice fans to grounds across the Welsh top flight.

However Ellis hoped the club could bank on their loyal supporters to make the difference this weekend.

He said: "What an opportunity for the townspeople to get behind the team and regular supporters to make your voices heard and make it the 12th man in trying to get the Robins over the line.

"To achieve European football once again it would not only be a great achievement for the club but for townspeople which puts us on the European map again.

"It’s important that we get vocal support in these two Easter games where the top three sides play each other and see we’re it takes us to the final game of the season away at Flint."
