A bag of cannabis was thrown out of a car after it was stopped by police officers in Newtown, a court heard.
Stewart William Lloyd, 28, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled Class B drug when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 8.
Lloyd admitted having 3.5 grams of herbal cannabis and six pre-rolled cannabis joints when the vehicle he was travelling in was stopped in Newtown on March 14.
Helen Tench, prosecuting, said Lloyd, who was a passenger in the vehicle, admitted that the drugs, which had a street value of around £40, were for personal use.
Lloyd, who was represented himself, apologised to the court.
Magistrates ordered Lloyd, of Cathcart Street, Birkenhead, to pay an £80 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs. An order for the forfeit and destruction of the drugs was also issued.
