All lanes are open and traffic has returned to normal on the A458 at Machynlleth.
The road at Mallwyd, around 10 miles from Machynlleth, reopened at 6.30pm having been partially closed following a road traffic collision earlier in the afternoon.
The road was closed in both directions after the crash.
The incident, which saw a vehicle overturn, occurred on the A458 between the A470 Mallwyd roundabout and the B4395 Llanfyllin turn off at around 3pm.
Long delays were reported in both directions in the Nant-y-dugoed area, between Mallwyd and Foel.
North Wales Police asked motorists to avoid the area while they dealt with the incident.
