LLANIDLOES Town Football Club has begun its preparations for another major milestone in their history.
The JD Cymru North club is among the oldest surviving football clubs in Montgomeryshire having been formed in 1875.
Now club officials have begun looking ahead to 2025 and a celebration to mark their 150th anniversary.
The club had intended to mark the 150th anniversary of the first ever football match played in Montgomeryshire.
On Boxing Day 1870 the town's Green hosted a football match between two sides from the town - the first match of its sort in Montgomeryshire history.
Sadly the pandemic meant plans to mark the 150th anniversary had to be cancelled due to the pandemic last year.
However it has only given club officials all the more resolve to ensure the club's 150th birthday in 2025 in suitably marked.
A club spokesman said: "It was a shame about last year but could not be helped.
"Now the club is looking ahead to 2025 and hopefully celebrating 150 years since our formation in style."
