JOSH Astley has signed for Guilsfield in one of the signings of the summer so far.

The Llanfair United ace joins the JD Cymru North side after netting 54 goals in the Ardal North East League last season to take the league player of the year award.

Astley, brother of Everton and Wales U21s defender Ryan, has represented his hometown club since breaking into senior football and departs with 175 appearances and 116 goals under his belt.

Astley's arrival at Clos Mytton will provide a boost after the villagers parted ways with defender Sam Litchfield and midfielder Iwan Lewis who both joined Aberystwyth Town last week.

Also departing Mount Field is forward Jack Orbell with the ex-Carno player also stepping up to JD Cymru North after agreeing terms with Chirk AAA.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Mark Richards has also called time on 16 years at Llanfair United by signing for Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League side Morda United who will be managed by ex-Carno boss Gary Jones next season.
