RYAN Astley captained Wales to a 2-0 win over Gibraltar in their final UEFA U21 European Championship in Llanelli this week.
The Llanfair Caereinion starlet is one of the emerging stars at English Premier League strugglers Everton while also a future prospect for Wales.
An early goal by Joe Adams followed by a second-half Oliver Hammond strike gave Paul Bodin’s side an impressive victory in their final UEFA U21 European Championship qualification campaign tie.
The three points mean Wales jumped above Bulgaria into fourth place in their qualifying group.
It took Wales only 30 seconds to take the lead as intricate play between Rhys Hughes and Fin Stevens led to Adams volleying home.
