The 36-year-old man from the Oswestry area was taken by the Welsh Air Ambulance to the Royal Stoke Hospital.
North Wales Police has appealed for witnesses of the single vehicle road traffic collision that happened on the A458 between Foel and Mallwyd at around 2.20pm.
Police said the crash involved a 68-plated dark blue coloured Honda GLR 125 motorcycle.
Sergeant Raymond Williams, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Whilst wishing the rider all the very best in his recovery, I appeal to anyone who was travelling on the A458 at that time who may have witnessed the collision, or may have dashcam footage of the motorcycle prior to the collision, to please contact us.
"We continue to urge drivers and and bikers to enjoy north Wales safely. Drivers - please look out for bikes when turning, whilst at junctions and when changing lanes. Bikers - please ride to the conditions, stick to the speed limit and know your capabilities."
