BUILTH Wells Football Club has confirmed the installation of floodlights at the Lant will take place in the immediate future.

The south Powys club confirmed the news this week and ensures fans can be assured the ambitions of their club have not waned despite missing out on the MMP-NL Mid Wales League East title to Brecon Corries.

Despite missing out on the title they remain hopeful of promotion to the third tier, with a decision imminent after the club passed tier three inspection, but the Bulls are pressing ahead with plans to develop the Lant regardless, with changing room improvements now completed.

Club spokesman Jack Hammond said: “Floodlights have been a work in progress over the last year really.

“We’ll be looking to begin work soon but funds will need to be raised as no grants are available currently.

“We might look to do initial groundworks in the coming months but the majority has to be done by the company supplying them.

“We’d like to thank everyone on the committee and in particular Matthew Jones and Gavin Samuel for their time and effort what they’ve put into the project so far.”

The club remains ambitious for the future with this season’s near miss only making the players and management hungrier to go one better next season.

Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader Town look set to be joined by Corries in the Ardal South East League next season and the Bulls want to become the fourth Powys club to make the step up.

Key to on the pitch success is meeting off the pitch criteria with the Bulls successful in that regard earlier this month. Hammond added: “It’s huge for our plans of moving up the tiers and will hopefully boost our chances of promotion to tier three despite finishing second this season.”
