Aelwen Davies has continued her rise as one of the fastest emerging cycling talents in Wales.

The 13 year old from Builth Wells is a member of the Velo Myrddin Cycling Club based in Carmarthenshire and also trains with Abergavenny Road Club.

Last year she was selected to represent Wales in Mountain Bike Cross Country at the Inter-Regional Mountain Championships in Scotland and finished fifth while winning the Welsh Cycling Cyclo-Cross Series and Championship.

Aelwen further underlines her class by winning the British Cycling National Cyclo-Cross Trophy Series and the British Cyclo-Cross Championships.

Over the 2021/22 cycling season she won the Track Omnium having won every round of the qualifying national series.

She also claimed a gold medal and won the British Cycling National Cyclo-Cross Trophy Series with three wins and two second places.

Aelwen claimed a silver medal at the Road Circuit Championship and several national series wins and podiums and silver at mountain Bike Cross-Country Championship having won several national series podiums.

Aelwen now hangs up her cyclo-cross bikes until next August and begins training to focus on Mountain-Bike Cross-Country, Road Circuit and Track Omniums.
