Donna Morris ran a lifetime best of 36:18 to end on the podium in the Welsh Athletics Sunset 10K.
The Builth Wells Running Club star crossed the line in second place behind Alaw Benyon-Thomas whose time of 35:53 proved enough to win the Cardiff event.
Morris ended second with Cardiff's Chloe Dooley completing the podium.
The race was organised by Welsh Athletics to provide a racing opportunity over 10km for athletes to prepare themselves for a host of events over the distance in coming months.
