A "serious assault" in Aberystwyth left a victim requiring medical treatment yesterday, police have said.

Aberystwyth CID have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which occurred in the Castle Street area of the town at around 4.45pm on Tuesday, June 15.

"Following medical treatment the victim is recovering at home," said a spokesperson.

"Police are appealing for any witnesses to the assault and anyone in the vicinity around this time, or immediately prior to the incident, that may have witnessed people acting suspiciously."
