Family celebrates double success at Guilsfield Show

Sue Southam was named overall flower winner, while Deborah Webster took the award for best exhibit in the flower section.

In the floral art section, Elaine Richards was the overall winner, with Laura Derwas receiving the Rose Bowl.

The preserves cup was awarded to Diane Eaton.

Organisers noted that Eaton and Derwas are mother and daughter, with Diane the mother and Laura the daughter and ensured a wonderful day for the family.

The men's cup was shared by joint winners Richard Picken and William Owen. Picken also claimed the award for best adult exhibit.

In the children's cookery classes, Grace Lloyd won the 12-16 years category, Rhys Harding topped the 8-11 years section and Caleb Greatorex was the winner in the 5-7 years class.

Cole Greatorex received the award for best children's exhibit.

From the horse section, Fiona Hunt said: “Horse entries were strong in all the morning classes. The heat of the day certainly put people off showjumping in the afternoon.

May Whiston took the Supreme Champion title, with her horse Banksy.

The results highlight strong competition across a wide range of show sections, from horticulture and floral art to cookery and equestrian classes.
