Powys pubs are among nearly 500 across the UK that will be serving pies made using a beer brand founded by TV's Jeremy Clarkson over the summer.
Marston’s pubs are launching a limited-edition beef and IPA pie featuring Clarkson’s Hawkstone beer.
The Hawkstone IPA & Beef Pie is available from today (Monday, August 3), and will be on the menu in select Marston’s pubs for a limited time.
The dish features British diced beef and pulled beef cheek, slow-cooked in a Hawkstone IPA-infused gravy with seasonal vegetables and Barber’s Cheddar, all wrapped in buttery shortcrust pastry.

Andy Cross, sales director at Hawkstone, said: "Farming isn’t just ‘how’ Hawkstone is made, it’s ‘why’ it’s made.
"The more Hawkstone you drink, the more barley we buy from British farmers.
"That’s why we’re thrilled Marston’s is serving Hawkstone IPA, not just by the bottle but also in a Great British pub classic, in almost 500 pubs nationwide.
"So, visit your local Marston’s pub, tuck into a pie and help us celebrate the farming community before stocks run out."
The pies will be served alongside seasonal vegetables, extra gravy, and a choice of chips or mash, depending on the pub.
Where will they be available?
Pubs in Powys that will be stocking the pies include the Smithfield Bell in Welshpool, the Wellington Brecon, and Clock Works, Ystradgynlais.
Bottled Hawkstone IPA will also be available for diners who want to pair their meal with the beer inside the dish.
Hawkstone was founded in 2021 by Jeremy Clarkson and uses British-grown ingredients to produce its award-winning beers.
Marston’s said the pie is a natural fit as part of its goal to support British farmers and introduce new flavours to pub menus.

Kiran Bains, director of brand activation at Marston’s, said: "We’re so excited to working with Hawkstone to bring our new take on a pub classic to almost 500 of our pubs across the UK.
"British beef and Hawkstone IPA are a match made in heaven, and we’ve created a really delicious dish to serve to guests up and down the country, introducing Hawkstone to more customers and giving them a new reason to visit their local.
"We can’t wait for everyone to try it."
The promotion spans pubs across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Hawkstone IPA was named England’s best IPA at the World Beer Awards in 2025 and perfectly balances bursts of tropical and citrus notes, with richness from malt and hop bitterness.
