A MAJOR road in Mid Wales has now reopened following an earlier closure in both directions according to a traffic website.
The A458 had earlier closed in both directions near Machynlleth between Nant y Dugoed and Foel.
Traffic Wales North & Mid warned drivers to avoid the area.
According to the traffic monitoring website Inrix, the road closure is because of an accident close to the Dyffryn Restaurant and Cafe in Foel.
Anyone travelling to and from Welshpool can use the A489 and A483.
But it reopened around midday.
