Passengers face major rail disruption today, with a reduced number of services running through north Powys after Transport for Wales withdrew trains needing repairs.
Services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth are being cancelled in both directions on Friday, July 17, with disruption expected to continue until the end of the day.
Transport for Wales said more trains than usual are currently out of action while depot teams continue work to ensure onboard air conditioning systems are fully functional.
The disruption affects the Cambrian Line, which serves communities across Powys including Welshpool, Newtown, Caersws, and Machynlleth, and passengers are being urged to check before travelling.
A TfW spokesperson said: "We expect to have a reduced number of trains available on Friday, July 17, whilst our depot teams continue to work to ensure our onboard air conditioning is fully functional."
Alternative travel arrangements have been put in place to help passengers complete their journeys.
Transport for Wales is accepting tickets on the X75 Celtic Travel service between Newtown and Aberystwyth, the X85 Lloyds Coaches service between Machynlleth and Newtown, and the T2 and T28 Lloyds Coaches services between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.

Limited rail replacement coaches operated by Lloyds Coaches are also running between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth at no extra cost to passengers.
Transport for Wales warned that replacement road transport will take longer than rail journeys and advised passengers to allow extra time for travel.
Customers are being encouraged to check the latest journey information before setting off as disruption is expected to remain in place until 11.59pm.
