Rail passengers travelling along the Cambrian line face widespread disruption today after Transport for Wales said more trains than usual have been taken out of service for repairs.
Services are being cancelled in both directions between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth, with disruption expected from 3am until 11.59pm on Wednesday (July 15).
Transport for Wales said it expects to have a reduced number of trains available while depot teams continue work to ensure onboard air conditioning systems are fully functional.
As a result, there will be fewer services running than normal between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth throughout the day.
Passengers are being urged to check before they travel as the disruption continues.
To help customers complete their journeys, Transport for Wales is accepting tickets on several local bus services at no extra cost.
These include the X75 service between Newtown and Aberystwyth, the X85 between Machynlleth and Newtown, and the T2 and T28 services between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.

The operator has also arranged limited replacement coach services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth, operated by Lloyds Coaches, to assist passengers where possible.
Transport for Wales warned that journeys by road will take longer than travelling by train and said passengers should allow extra time for their trips.
A Transport for Wales service update said: "We expect to have a reduced number of trains available whilst our depot teams continue to work to ensure our onboard air conditioning is fully functional."
