AN update has been issued as an investigation continues into a Herefordshire pet crematorium.
A Herefordshire Council spokesman said: "We are working with the Animal and Plant Health Agency, the RSPCA and other relevant agencies as part of the ongoing investigations and will take appropriate action within the council’s responsibilities and powers."
Now, a spokesperson for the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) said a 'stop notice' was issued on July 9, banning the use of animal by-products at the site, while investigations continue into the allegations.

Since the allegations came to light, several veterinary practices have moved to reassure pet owners about their own cremation services.
Ledbury Park Veterinary Centre said it does not use Animal Funeral Services.

A spokesman said: "We are deeply saddened to hear the news today regarding Animal Funeral Services and wish to reassure our clients that our pet cremation services are provided by Summerleaze Pet Crematorium and have been for many, many years."
Holmer Veterinary Surgery said it also uses Summerleaze.
Brookfield Vets, with branches in Hereford and Ledbury, said it has not used the Kington facility for "several months" and served notice to terminate its contract at the end of last year due to communication difficulties.
Arrowfield Vet Practice confirmed it does not use Animal Funeral Services and instead uses Pet Cremation Services. Vets for Pets in Hereford confirmed it uses Pet Cremation Services and Summerleaze Pet Crematorium.
