The A458 has reopened following a crash between Llanfair Caereinion and Llangadfan that led to traffic disruption on Monday morning.

Dyfed-Powys Police initially closed the westbound lane after a collision, urging motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported shortly after 8.30am that the incident had been cleared and conditions were returning to normal.

An update said: "A458 New Road, Llanfair Caereinion. Road cleared and traffic returned to normal, accident cleared on A458 New Road both ways between the B4385 (Llanfair Caereinion) and Gyfylche (Llangadfan)."

Police later confirmed the road had fully reopened. Shortly before 11am, Dyfed-Powys Police posted on social media: "A458 Llanfair Caereinion to Llangadfan. The road has now reopened.

"Thank you for your patience."

No further details about the collision have been released.
