Plans are already underway to make Welshpool Carnival 2027 bigger and better.

Welshpool Town Council is inviting residents, businesses, community groups, and volunteers to a public meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6pm at Welshpool Town Hall to help shape next year’s event.

The council is eager to build on the success of this year’s carnival and is encouraging anyone with ideas or an interest in supporting the event to get involved.

A spokesman for Welshpool Town Council said: "Whether you have suggestions for new attractions, would like to volunteer, represent a local organisation or simply want to share your thoughts, everyone is welcome."

This year’s carnival was held at Maes y Dre Recreation Ground and featured a full day of family entertainment.

The event was officially opened by Carnival King and Queen Ariya and Keegan, along with carnival attendants Owen and Lowri.

Crowds enjoyed a wide variety of performances, including the Batala Bermo drummers, acts from Welshpool High School, routines by the Sally Gartell Academy of Dance, and a vintage strongman display.

Visitors also browsed craft stalls, food vendors, and community exhibitors.

Children made full use of the inflatable fun zone, which offered unlimited access to bouncy castles.

Although the traditional parade did not take place this year, the event was still described as a "wonderful celebration of Welshpool's community spirit."

The council now wants more input from the public to help take the carnival to new heights.

The public meeting on July 14, 2026, is a chance for everyone to share their ideas, volunteer, or get involved in planning and delivering the 2027 event.

The spokesman said: "Whether your ideas are big or small, or you simply want to lend a hand on the day, your involvement could help make Welshpool Carnival 2027 the best one yet."
