Passengers are facing disruption on the Cambrian line this morning after a train developed a technical fault at Machynlleth, leading to cancellations between Welshpool and Aberystwyth.
Transport for Wales said services in both directions between Welshpool and Aberystwyth may be cancelled while engineers work to resolve the problem.
The train operator expects the fault to be cleared by 12.30am but warned that disruption to services could continue until around 2.30pm.
Replacement buses have been arranged to help passengers complete their journeys at no extra cost.
Additional services have also been arranged, with a replacement bus departing Shrewsbury at 10.27am calling at all stations to Aberystwyth, operated by Lakeside, and a further service leaving Aberystwyth at 12.27pm calling at all stations to Shrewsbury, operated by Lloyds Coaches.

Transport for Wales said rail replacement journeys will take longer than normal train services and advised customers to allow extra time when travelling.
Passengers are being urged to check the latest service information before setting off.
The operator apologised for the disruption and reminded customers that anyone delayed by more than 15 minutes may be entitled to compensation through the Delay Repay scheme.
