A Welshpool-born man killed in a crash between a car and a tractor earlier this month has been named at the opening of an inquest into his death.
A hearing at Shrewsbury Coroner’s Court on Wednesday morning (May 20) was told that Phillip Edwards, 71 who lived on Trentham Road in Wem, died after a crash in Minsterley on May 8.
In the opening of the inquest into Mr Edwards death, it was heard he was involved in a crash between a motorcycle and tractor and trailer while travelling on Horsebridge Road.
It was heard that despite the efforts of ambulance teams Mr Edwards, who was born in Welshpool, was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Mercia Police confirmed earlier this month that a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the crash.
