Firefighters were called to an agricultural vehicle fire on the B4568 near Caersws on Thursday morning.

Emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle on fire between Pontdolgoch and Aberhafesp at around 11.20am on April 9.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Newtown and Llanidloes fire stations were sent to the incident. On arrival, firefighters found the vehicle “well alight”.

Crews used two breathing apparatus sets and two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, which was successfully extinguished. Firefighters remained at the scene until 1.07pm.

Video footage captured by a passing motorist showed flames coming from the burning vehicle.

No injuries were reported.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. Dyfed‑Powys Police said motorists were advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

The road reopened at around 2.40pm.
