Rattus was not impressed by the first version of the proposed Glyndwr National Park and he thinks the new proposed map is a nonsense.
He is pleased that some bits of North Powys have been taken out but the proposed area doesn’t make a coherent whole.
You could argue that the Lake Vyrnwy estate together with the Berwyns needs some sort of protection but much of it is an SSSI and the RSPB manage the area round Lake Vyrnwy already.

Connecting this to the coast at Prestatyn seems crazy.
Taking out the Tanat and Cain valleys is a relief but a lower designation would be useful.
There needs to be funds for footpaths and infrastructure without the extra planning controls and bureaucracy that make life for farmers and residents even more difficult.
At the moment we have not got the toilets and car parks to cope with a big increase in visitor numbers that would be the inevitable consequence of National Park designation.
The Clwydian range already has a designation.
The area of this could be expanded.
