Fern the sausage dog stole the show at The Oaks Care Home's annual summer fete earlier this month.
The Oaks, situated in Newtown, welcomed residents, their families, and visitors for a day of entertainment and fun.
To the delight of everyone, Fern and her friends from Animal Encounters were a hit, particularly with residents who were unable to get outside for the event.
The Oaks understood the sense of joy their residents get from interactions with pets and ensured that everyone had the opportunity to meet Fern and her friends on the day.
Engaging with animals in pet therapy sessions can significantly help older adults in care homes by reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation and promoting social interaction and emotional support.
Alongside the pet therapy, attendees had a wonderful time enjoying various activities.
Entertainment from DJ Tony, face paint, fancy dress, and several games livened up the fete.
The cake and sweet stand proved so popular that it sold out before the day's end.
Visitors from a local children's summer club joined in the festivities.

Jen Roberts, registered manager, expressed her pride: "We're so proud of the success of our Summer Fete.
"Our goal was to create a joyful day that our residents and visitors could share with their loved ones.
"Watching everyone have such a wonderful time, from engaging with the animals to enjoying the entertainment, was a truly special experience."
The fete, part of The Oaks’ ongoing commitment to the well-being and happiness of residents, raised more than £900 for the residents' comfort fund.
The proceeds will be used for days out and activities for the residents.
