A HOUSE fire in a village close to the Shropshire/Powys border was attended to by firefighters from Oswestry on Tuesday.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews from Oswestry and Ellesmere were called to the fire at a bungalow in Porth-Y-Waen at around 2.30pm.
A spokesman for SFRS said that firefighters used a variety of equipment to tackle the fire which started in a bedroom.
They said: “Crews used breathing apparatus, covering and hosereel jets plus positive pressure ventilation to put out the fire and also used a thermal imagine camera.
“The fire was located in a bedroom within the bungalow.”
A stop message was sent to SFRS control at around 4pm to confirm no further support weas required.
