A section of the road was blocked off by police officers while they took witness statements and waited for the vehicles to be recovered from the scene.

Traffic flowing from Llanidloes Road was redirected along Park Street while motorists travelling along New Road were being allowed through by police officers.

Shortly after 7.30pm, both lanes along New Road were reopened after one of the vehicles was removed.
