Newtown fire station celebrated 150 years of keeping the town safe.
A private event was held for all crew members past and present and special guests to honour this special occasion.
CFO Roger Thomas officially opened the event with a speech about the history of the station and how it was formed back in 1874. OIC Watch Manager Mike Wareing also shared his personal experience of working at the station.
Montgomeryshire representatives Craig Williams MP, Russell George MS were in attendance along with Chair of the fire authority Cllr Gwynfor Thomas.

Later on a commemorative plaque was unveiled which “will take pride of place in the station for all to see”.
The serving crew members demonstrated a Road Traffic Collision drill “for past members and guests to witness the modern capabilities we have when faced with real life road traffic incidents.”
A spokesperson for the station said: “We would like to thank all who attended this special occasion and for all the past and present crew members who have served over the past 150 years protecting their communities.
"Also to all who have been involved in organising and taking time out to volunteer to put this event together.”
