A fashion show returns to Llanfair Caereinion after a successful debut event in 2023.

Following on from last year’s event, Llanfair Caereinion WI is currently preparing for their second fashion show at The Institute, scheduled to be held on Thursday, April 11.

The fashion show will see some models, including some WI members, modelling the latest spring and summer fashion from the Talisman store, arranged by the Welshpool business' owner Adrienne.

Ann Watkin-Jones, programme secretary, said: "We are looking forward to the fashion show, by kind permission of Adriene of Talisman in Welshpool and look forward to seeing the latest spring and summer fashions here in Llanfair Caereinion.

“Anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to get in touch with me as soon as possible to reserve their ticket for what promises to be another great show.”

Preparations for the show come amid a number of new members joining Llanfair WI over recent months, as the group agreed its programme for the year at their March meeting.

At the meeting, the WI were joined by Emma Stoker of Puppy Plus in Newtown who provided a talk on the work she does with dogs and scent work, including the research she is involved with at Aberystwyth University and the numerous competitions held for dogs involving various tests associated with scent work.

Ms Watkin-Jones added: “We have agreed a varied programme of activity for the year ahead which includes trips and visits to Bluebell Park, to the Long Mountain Flower Company and a walk and picnic.

"In addition we will be joined by a range of speakers, including the local company Positive Flames, Dewi 'The River Man' Roberts and Glyn Davies. We also have some craft events factored in and some Christmas festivities to look forward to later in the year."

Llanfair Caereinion WI usually meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm in the Institute, with new members always welcome.

Anyone interested in attending the fashion show is encouraged to contact Ms Watkin Jones on 07799 173297, with tickets costing £8 to include light refreshments.
